Hi, I’m Cherish, and I am so thankful that you have found my page. Ravishingly Younique is the result of my personal journey, and to keep it real, I want to share part of my story with you, because it is the absolute hope of my heart that finding my website will be the start of a new chapter for you too – the start of you truly embracing the ravishingly younique-ness of YOU! I’m not here to make you change who you are. I’m here to help you see who you already are and to help you embrace your beautiful younique-ness and help you feel better in the skin you’re in.
I’m 37 and I have been told that I appear to be quiet and reserved at first, kind and friendly… but don’t take it as a weakness… I’ve been hurt, bullied, rejected, lost people very close to me, and I know what it feels like to not have money – to start all over again at the bottom… Maybe you can identify?
Today, I’m happily married to the most wonderful husband, who is my number one supporter, and who I love with my whole heart. We have a 15 year old son, and I am a quality controller in a Pack House on a farm close to Kruger National Park.
But, as with all journeys, there were struggles that led me here. They included pressure to generate an extra income, a stomach ulcer and overall stress. These basic ingredients impact all our life views and choices, while making us feel trapped in a vicious circle of needing to do more, but not feeling well enough to. I also remember admiring beautiful clothes, but always telling myself that it was a waste to own something I would only wear to special functions.
My first introduction to Loka was one of those sponsored ads you get on your Facebook newsfeed, where they show which of your friends have liked that page. I went to have a look at what was being sold there. The most beautiful red flower nam top I have ever seen in my life popped up and I have been in love with Loka ever since….
If you haven’t noticed, I am an incurable Loka super-fan! Why? Well, Loka is UNIQUE! Loka is COMFORTABLE! I absolutely LOVE EVERY new design that comes out, because what’s not to love? You could say, I’m a loka-holic!
Have you ever looked at something pretty and thought: It’s a waste of money. What’s the point of buying something if you’re not going to wear it often? Loka changed that for me, because their range is so comfortable and versatile that it’s easy to look and feel good – no matter where you are going.
I found my mindset being challenged with the questions: Why should your beautiful dress hang in your closet and look lonely and abandoned, and you might only wear it once? Why can’t you wear your beautiful dress whenever you want? After all, clothes are bought to be worn!
So, I decided… I’m going to buy the pretty dress, or the nice top, or the gorgeous pants! I WILL wear them – whether I’m at home, or at work, or going to church, shopping, picking up my kid from school -whether people see me or not – because I want to wear it for me. It has been life changing!
I have learned that when you feel blue and you dress nicely, and beautify yourself, you can immediately feel a difference in your mood. Looking and feeling better are inextricably linked, and wearing nice clothes that fit your body comfortably and make you feel amazing achieves both. There is no such thing as being ‘overdressed’ – we are conditioned to conform, but that is a direct violation of your You-niqueness.
Today, I’m here to tell you to buy the dress, top, pants, skirt, etc.. And wear it when you want to wear it – don’t wait until your weight conforms to the prevailing fashion fetishes or you find someone to validate your worth. Life is short, you may never get the opportunity, and the world needs you to shine your unique light into the lives around you TODAY.
As you can imagine, when the door to become a Loka and Stellie Jeans Agent finally opened, I embraced the opportunity whole-heartedly. I believe in this brand and it is a great honor to be part of the Loka family, and to expand the reach of their range to other women like me. Again, this decision was the first step to many more opportunities.
